FROM: YATES GEAR - IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE

It has come to our attention that there may be a rare , premature release of the current, "Small Ear" STABLOCK Quick release buckles used on various lrg portions of various Yates Gear harnesses. The latest occurence involved two window washing companies who's employees were suspended in a Basic Rope Access harness and the quick connect seemed to come undone. This usually occurs when the leg puxhes down and sideways on the harness. We have also had this situation occur on one Voyager harness in the field during technical rescue training. We have tried ro duplicate this situation here at the factory and have not been able to get any buckles to release prematurely.

Because of the obvious safety concerns, Yates Gear will no longer use the STABLOCK buckle on the following harnesses:

380 Voyager Harness
387 Basic Rope Access Harness
390 BTR Professional Tower Access Harness

The Stablock buckle system will be replaced with the standard Yates CAMLOCK buckles.

Any user of harnesses containing the quick release STABLOCK buckle systems who has safety concerns about the integrity of their buckles can return the harness to Yates Gear, Inc. and have the buckles replaced with standard CAMLOCK buckles at no charge to the customer. IMPORTANT: Please call for an RMA# prior to shipping any harness to Yates Gear, Inc. for warrnaty service.

Designed to meet the demands of the rescue professional who needs a versatile harness with multiple attachment points. 5" (12.7cm) waist pad provides extreme comfort. Quickly and easily donned and adjusted by use of camlock buckles. Attachment points at waist, hips (positioning), chest (sternum), back (lumbar), back (dorsal) and shoulders. Large forged D-rings allow for multiple connections. Chest and seat separate to create Class II seat harness. Certified to NFPA 1983/2006 Standards.
