The Petzl SPIN L1D is a high efficiency single pulley with one way rotation and an integrated swivel for hauling and lowering heavy loads. Its faceted sheave provides 93% efficiency when hauling and adds friction for greater control during lowering. The triple action side plate can be opened while the pulley remains connected to the anchor, while the swivel helps keep the system properly oriented under load. Compatible with 8 to 13 mm rope with a 36 kN breaking strength.

Openable even when attached to the anchor, the SPIN L1D pulley is designed to be used in conjunction with a descender for maximum simplicity in setting up a deviation for a heavy load. The faceted sheave only rotates in one direction, providing excellent efficiency when hauling and adding friction zones for the rope for additional braking when lowering. The swivel facilitates handling, allowing the pulley to be oriented under load, and direct connection of carabiners, ropes or slings.
