Designed for versatility, the Appalachian Foot Loop can be Prusik hitched or tied with a Klemheist for rope ascent, self-rescue, or suspension trauma relief. For maximum efficiency, it can also be girth hitched directly to a handled ascender or a Petzl Basic, creating a streamlined ascending system with minimal bulk.
Each foot loop comes pre-tied as an adjustable Purcell, allowing you to quickly fine-tune the length for your preferred climbing position without tying additional knots.
Pair the Appalachian Foot Loop with a Safeguard or Vergo to create a RAD (Rapid Ascent and Descent) System, giving you a simple, efficient method for both climbing and descending on a single rope.
Why carry heavy climbing sticks when you can ascend a rope? A properly configured rope climbing system is lighter, quieter, and often more economical than traditional stick climbing. It also offers significant advantages in the field.
Please Note: The ascender shown in the product photos is for demonstration purposes only and is not included with the Appalachian Foot Loop.
