OUR HISTORY
Rock-N-Rescue was formed in 1982 to better serve the equipment and training needs of those involved in vertical cave exploration and technical rescue. In fact, RNR has humble beginnings of selling carabiners to cavers out of the trunk of the first owner’s car!
As the need for reliable, safe, and affordable equipment grew, so did we. By 1984, RNR formed its own manufacturing department to produce rope bags, equipment bags, and sewn anchors. And to this day, nearly 4 decades later, RNR is manufacturing sewn straps, slings, harnesses, bags, and more in-house with a sewing team of over 25 people.
RNR is a family-owned-and-operated business, trading hands within the Weinel family for three generations.
WHAT WE DO
Aside from stocking & distributing the top brands in rescue and manufacturing our own brand of straps, harnesses, rope lanyards, rope bags, and more, we:
- Design and extensively field test & destructively test products
- Ship all of the products on our website out of our own Pennsylvania warehouse and ensure a quick turnaround of in-stock items • Operate a production splicing department that specializes in sewn terminations and hand splicing
- Produce custom-made products for more than a few leading brands within the rescue, arborist, fitness, hunting, outdoor, and rigging industries
From ascending to Z-rigs we do it all! With techniques and equipment constantly evolving, you can count on Rock-N-Rescue to keep you as up-to-date and with the times as we can.
We have searched the world over for the best equipment, constantly evaluating each item’s safety, usefulness, and value to make your activities simpler, safer, and more enjoyable. When it comes to innovative equipment, Rock-N-Rescue will be the only source you will ever need. Along with changes also comes tradition. Some equipment works great the way it always has so there is not always a need to change what works.
Always remember, it is up to the user of specialized technical equipment to seek education and knowledge about its safety and use in their particular area of interest. It is not in the scope of this website to provide instructions for safe applications in rock climbing, caving, industry, or rescue.
