The Mad Rock Safeguard (Springless) is a compact belay and descender device designed for rescue, rigging, climbing, and positioning applications. Its springless design allows the device to lock onto the rope with very little force, helping reduce unwanted rope movement once positioned. Built from hot forged aluminum and stainless steel, the Safeguard weighs 154 g, works with 8.1 to 11 mm rope for rescue and rigging and 8.9 to 11 mm rope for climbing, and is certified to CE EN 15151-1.

By constructing the Lifeguard without the internal spring, the Safeguard is a great tool for rescue and rigging work. It will lock onto the rope with very little force giving you the confidence that once the position of the rope is set the device will not creep or slide.
