The Sterling FCX Self Rescue Device is a compact descent control device designed for firefighter escape and emergency egress systems. Its cam based design provides smooth one handed descent control, while the Click To Neutral feature allows easier horizontal movement and payout at the window sill. Elevated side rails help reduce glove interference and rope entrapment, and the spring loaded handle stays out of the way until needed. The FCX weighs 7.8 oz, works with 7.5 to 8 mm FireTech2 and SafeTech ropes, and is certified to NFPA 1983 as an Escape Descent Device.

The FCX is Sterling Rope’s newest and most advanced descent control device. It uses a unique cam feature that allows smooth modulation so the user can easily control the speed of descent with one hand and a click-to-neutral feature allows for easy horizontal movement. Side rails prevent glove and sill interference and a spring-loaded handle stays out of the way until needed, which prevents snagging and tangling.
