The Hunter / Tree Stand Rescue course from The Weinel Group provides emergency response personnel with the knowledge and skills to size up and mitigate incidents involving hunters and outdoor enthusiasts who find themselves in precarious situations in trees. Regardless of whether your victim is 10’ or 100’ off the ground, this two-day, 16-hour course will provide responders with a basic skill set for handling the majority of tree incidents in your response areas. Skills will include size up of trees, access into trees, patient assessment and packaging, and victim removal methods utilizing minimally equipped kits. Students will integrate tools and equipment they may already be familiar with and some new tool options they have not seen before. Our instructors’ goal is to provide some of the most versatile equipment layouts that can be carried for the widest array of response risks. This course will focus heavily on the small team organization (2-3 personnel) utilizing a non-traditional approach to access elevated positions within trees.
