The GIBBS 1/2″ Aluminum Shell with Forged Cam is a lightweight ascender designed for litter raising and load hauling applications. Its 3/16 inch aluminum shell and forged aluminum cam provide strength while keeping weight to 8.5 oz. The spring loaded cam can be converted to free running operation, and the device is compatible with 7/16 inch and 1/2 inch rope. It has a 5,000 lbf (22.24 kN) breaking strength and is made in the USA.

The #3 Ascender is intended for litter raising and load hauling where extra strength and light weight is required. It is not intended to be used as a self belay by solo climbers. Features a 3/16″ aluminum shell, forged aluminum cam and is spring loaded, but can be converted to a free running cam by removing the connecting pin from the cam. Use with 7/16″ (11 mm) and 1/2″ (13 mm) rope only. Made in the U.S.A.
