Low Angle Purcell Bridle

The RNR 8mm Low-Angle Purcell Bridle provides a simple, lightweight, and highly adaptable solution for rigging a rescue litter during low-angle raising and lowering operations. Built from durable 8mm rescue cord, this system creates a secure multi-point connection to the litter while maintaining a compact and easy-to-manage rigging setup.

Purcell-based systems are well suited for litter operations because they offer quick adjustment, minimal bulk, and natural energy absorption during minor shock loading. The result is a litter bridle that is easy to deploy, easy to manage during operations, and compact enough to remain stored with the litter when appropriate.

Designed with both efficiency and versatility in mind, the system incorporates delta links and a rigging plate to create organized attachment points for the main line, belay line, and litter attendants.

Simplicity

The bridle is quick to install and easy to manage during operations. When stored properly, it can remain attached to the litter so it is ready for rapid deployment.

Note: Pre-rigged systems should not be stored outdoors or exposed to the elements for extended periods, such as on the exterior of rescue vehicles.

Security

The use of Delta Links helps distribute loads evenly across the litter frame, creating a stable multi-point connection. The sewn cord configuration provides four secure connection points to the litter.

Organized Rigging

The included rigging plate provides designated connection points for the main line, belay line, and attendants, helping teams maintain a clean, organized rigging system while minimizing hardware clustering.

Low Angle Attendant Tether Set (2 tethers)

The Low-Angle Attendant Tether Set includes two tether assemblies designed to secure one rescuer on each side of the litter during low-angle evacuations.

This configuration can be particularly beneficial for teams operating with limited personnel, helping reduce the physical strain placed on those performing the raise. The system works especially well when attendants are positioned farther toward the foot end of the litter, assisting with guidance and stabilization during movement.
