The GIBBS Spring Loaded 1/2″ Aluminum Ascender is a lightweight rope grab designed for climbing ropes and pack hauling. Its aluminum shell and spring loaded forged aluminum cam provide secure rope engagement on 7/16 inch and 1/2 inch ropes, while the cam can be converted to free running operation by removing the connection pin. The ascender weighs 6.6 oz, has a 2,550 lbf breaking strength, and is made in the USA. It is not intended for litter raising, self belay, or supporting more than one person.

The #2 Ascender is intended for climbing ropes and pack hauling by mountain climbers and cavers. It is NOT intended for litter raising or the support of more than one person or for self belay. It features an aluminum shell, spring loaded forged aluminum cam and is intended for 7/16″ (11 mm) and 1/2″ (13 mm) ropes. Can be converted to a free running cam by removing the connection pin on the cam. Made in the U.S.A.
